Activision just announced that the next Call of Duty game, which will be developed by Sledgehammer, will be titled Advanced Warfare and will be out this November for the Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and PC. And now, we’ve got the first details on the game via the pre-order page that Amazon has put up.

“Envision the powerful battlegrounds of the future,” reads the description of the game, “where both technology and tactics have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise.”

The description of the game also reveals that Kevin Spacey’s character in the game- the star of the show, of course- will be called Jonathan Irons, one of the most powerful men in the world who is “shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.”

“Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in a plausible future in which technological progress and today’s military practices have converged with powerful consequences,” the pre-order page further goes on. It then talks about the importance of Private Military Companies on the game’s narrative, as we reported yesterday. “In this carefully researched and crafted vision of the future, Private Military Corporations (PMCs) have become the dominant armed forces for countless nations outsourcing their military needs, redrawing borders and rewriting the rules of war. And Jonathan Irons, the founder and president of the world’s largest PMC – Atlas Corporation – is at the center of it all.”

There’s a lot more information on that page. It also talks about how the soldiers in the game are an all new class of the fighting soldier, with modifications to their exoskeletons and whatnot. And then, of course, there are the customary upgrades and changes to the game’s arsenal of weapons.

You can get all the information on the game’s pre-order page on Amazon, which has been hyper linked above.

Stay tuned for more updates.
