After Reset is a new science fiction post apocalyptic RPG, inspired by the likes of games like the classic Fallout games, Planescape Torment, and Baldur’s Gate. The title eschews all modern streamlining, and espouses classic RPG mechanics that made the genre so big on the PC in the first place, with a new gameplay system that is based on the AD&D mechanics that those games used to be based on.
“You know, we were all really upset by the cancellation of Fallout: Van Buren, the cancellation of Knights of the Old Republic III, cancellation of Neverwinter Nights III – while instead the video game industry has just – flooded us with “fast-food” MMOs, – trying to fake us, mere gamers, with their brands. So, being similar minded RPG players like you, we were tired of being disappointed, tired of waiting for miracles – so we decided to fill in the gap ourselves. We wanted to relive the emotions and epic stories from old school RPG’s and decided to make our own miracle,” said Black Cloud Studios on their Kickstarter page.
The title currently has $48,752 pledged to it, which means the Prologue is currently under production and slated to release on PC, Mac, and Linux by October this year. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage.
