Aiden Might Not Star in Watch Dogs 2

'We'll work harder to be more diverse.'

Ubisoft has always been pretty open about doing a Watch Dogs 2- they’ve always been pretty forthcoming about the fact that they plan on making this a new mega IP, a new bran to go along with Assassin’s Creed for them. Similar to how Assassin’s Creed changes its protagonists with every installment, then, it appears that Ubisoft will also be switching protagonists out for Watch Dogs 2. Apparently, this comes on the heel of the mixed reception Aiden’s character has gotten, in conjunction with the recent controversies surrounding the race of characters in video games (which just so often happen to be white).

“We knew it would be polarising; some people loved the characters and some didn’t. It was difficult to please everybody with that character,” said Ubisoft’s Yves Guillemot  to CVG.

“Now, having seen the reaction, we know what we will do next to improve that,” he said, adding that the company would do better to have more diverse protagonists in the future.

Personally, I’d rather they work on releasing a less repetitive game first.
