2K Games finally revealed some details about this year’s edition of the annual WWE 2K franchise, and here’s what we know so far. For staters, WWE 2K19‘s cover athlete will be AJ Styles, who is also the current heavyweight champion. The game will have an extensive roster, featuring fighters from WWE Superstars, Legends, Hall of Famers and NXT favorites, as well as comprehensive fan creation tools. Different match types and modes are also mentioned in the press release, suggesting that everything from last year’s entry is returning in this year’s installment.
Notably, the game has only been announced for PS4, Xbox One, and PC- no mention of a Switch version. This could mean two things- that like last year, a Switch version of the game will be announced and released later, or that after the poor performance of last year’s game on Switch (it launched later and was a horrifically bad port that got a lot of bad press), 2K have decided to simply skip the platform with WWE 2K19.
And now for the release date- the launch of the game will be on October 5, for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
