Aliens Colonial Marines Concept to Game Trailer Highlights the Alien Hive

Back to the madness, one concept at a time.

Gearbox Software continues to update us on the progress of the upcoming survival FPS Aliens: Colonial Marines, due to release for PC, Xbox 360, Wii U and PS3 on February 12th. This time, we get a look at the Xenomorph Hive and how it evolved from it’s conceptual inceptions to the fortress of fear we must overcome in the main game.

This continues Gearbox’s approach of showing us how exactly the game took shape. While paying homage to the Alien movies in spades, Colonial Marines is deadset on striking out on its own to provide a compelling experience to the player. Considering this worked quite well for Alien vs Predator (not so much for future sequels), we’d say we’re stoked to see the final result.

Aliens: Colonial Marines has seen its share of delays, having been announced as far back as December 2006. Hopefully that long development cycle hasn’t affected it a la Duke Nukem Forever.
