The original Zelda takes place in The Darkest Timeline
The Zelda games always have had intricate stories and characters. However what many of you are not aware is that the original Zelda game is quite dark and takes place in the darkest timeline. For instance The Legend of Zelda depicts a Hyrule in quite a mess as the civilization has been all but destroyed. The land you explore in the original Zelda is a straight-up apocalyptic wasteland.
