A Chip Shortage Delayed Zelda 2
The year was 1988, which at that the time meant the video game industry was slowly picking up, and it was in large part thanks to Mario and Zelda games. In fact Zelda 2 became really popular that it was in demand a lot. The demand was so high that it was delayed significantly in their American releases due to a chip shortage. Though at least that was how Nintendo told the story, and many news publications questioned them about this fact.
