This isn’t exactly a live appearance, but Mario does make an appearance in the form of little figurines. In Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, the player can notice that one of the computers has tiny Mario and Yoshi figures standing on it. It is a cute nod to the characters and as such, we are quite sure that the developers were Mario fans and probably were influenced by Mario to make video games.
