I find this ending to be quite sad and sort of an overkill. If you happen to lose a race in Mario Kart 64, then the player just watches on as the winners take their place near the castle. The player just rides off to the sunset in a very sad way, but not before a homing bomb blows up the car that the character is in. Talk about an explosive ending.
