Many Mario games were just a dream

I’ll admit it; I hate games that I have invested countless hours in, only to find out that the whole thing never happened. While in Super Mario Bros 2 we already knew that something was terribly off. Our suspicions were right as the ending reveals that the whole thing was a dream. Of course by then many fans tried to justify the theory that Mario 3 was actually a stage play, put on for the player. I mean I’m all in for conspiracy theories, but this was just plain stupid. I guess this where Mass Effect 3 and Breaking Dawn 2 got their ideas from.
