And Again the Darkness: Playdead Launches Limbo Special Edition

Posted By | On 02nd, Jul. 2012

What could be better than a limited boxed release for an award-winning indie platformer? A limited box release for Limbo, currently available on XBLA, PSN, PC and Mac OS.

Playdead today announced the release of the LIMBO Special Edition. Created for fans, this limited boxed edition includes the DRM-free PC and Mac versions of the game, a stand-alone soundtrack, art cards, and awesome 3D glasses.

Praised for it’s stunning art direction and atypical story, Limbo is as addictive as it is dark. Indeed, the dark overtones lead to much of the popularity behind the title, but it still measures up to the some of the indie classics like Braid and Super Meat Boy.

Released in 2010, it went on to gross $7.5 million USD in revenue, making it the third highest selling game on XBLA that year. This isn’t including the number of accolades heaped on the game by various publications and websites.
