As we enter into 2021, now is the time when we look back at the best of the best of 2020 with multiple Game of the Year style lists as well as the bestselling and most played titles of the year. It’s been quite an incredible year with gaming, something of a relief for many of those who found themselves caught in a tough year. Now the world’s biggest retailer has released the top sellers for two different regions with one game on top.
Amazon released their list for top sellers in both the US and UK, which you can see here and here, respectively. The thing that stands out the most is that the same game is at the top for both: Animal Crossing: New Horizons. In fact, the game actually shows up three times as the US list has both the physical and digital versions in the top 10. Nintendo basically dominates the US list, in general, with only two spots of the Top 10 going to non-Nintendo games, being the PS4 version of Cyberpunk 2077 and The Last of Us Part 2.
The UK list is a different story, even with Animal Crossing and Super Mario 3D All Stars enjoying top billing. There FIFA 21 for PS4 and Xbox One made the list, Just Dance 2021‘s Switch version with the PS4 and Xbox One release of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla rounding out the list. Cyberpunk 2077 is on both in fairly high spots, which is rather impressive considering it was released in both regions December 10th. You can see the full Top 10 list of just games minus other gaming related material below.
