Developers from Respawn Entertainment of Apex Legends and Titanfall 2 fame have announced a new studio, dubbed Wildlight Entertainment. While no initial game has been announced, the studio is currently hiring for senior roles.
The studio is being headed up by former Apex Legends game director Chad Grenier, whose credits also include older titles like Titanfall, and even the original Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.
Joining Grenier are designer Mohammad Alavi, former Apex Legends lead designer Carlos Peneda, design director Jason McCord, art director Jose Zavala, environment art director Robert Tuabe, and lead technical artist Michael Cook, among others.
Wildlight Entertainment is largely made up of former Respawn developers who have left the studio over the last 14 months.
The departures could have been part of a series of recent games cancelled by EA, which include a rumoured unannounced Titanfall game.
Respawn currently has its hands full with the recently-launched Season 16: Revelry for Apex Legends, as well as the upcoming Star Wars Jedi: Survivor.
For the last year, I've been hard at work creating a new game studio comprised of some of the most amazing developers from my previous time on CoD, Titanfall, and Apex Legends. Today we get to announce Wildlight Entertainment @WildlightEnt pic.twitter.com/hYRTlj8QfP
