Host of new features added by free patch.
Arma 3, the third installment in the uber realistic military sim series by Bohemia Interactive that released to general acclaim recently, got its first post release patch for free today. The new patch includes a variety of spots, tweaks, and fixes for the game, and will download itself automatically over Steam.
Arma 3 itself is a modern military sim shooter, set in the Mediterranean islands, lauded for its hyper realism and authenticity, which sets it apart from more arcadey, cartoony military shooter experiences like Call of Duty and Battlefield. The game is slated to be supported via a slew of free post launch content, including patches like this one, and a post game campaign which will be made available as free DLC post launch, distributed into three episodes.
Arma 3 retails for $60 on Steam for the regular edition, and $65 for the special edition. A retail copy is also available at most leading retailers.
