Assassin’s Creed 3 Headlines New Batch Of Xbox One Backward Compatible Games

Microsoft's excellent backward compatibility initiative continues.

Posted By | On 23rd, May. 2017

As everyone must have figured out when Microsoft announced it as part of the Games with Gold lineup for June earlier today, Assassin’s Creed 3 is now backward compatible on the Xbox One- however, it is only one of many games that joined the service today (albeit it is the biggest, most major one- probably why it was used as the headlining title).

The five new games that join the service today bring the total number of Xbox 360 games playable on the Xbox One up to over 300, which is an incredible number by any stretch. It is clear that this is an initiative that Microsoft intends to continue in the long term, having the bulk of the Xbox 360 library playable on the Xbox One (and onwards, presumably).

The full list of the games added today is below. Remember to stay tuned to GamingBolt for more coverage and information.

  • Assassin’s Creed III ($19.99)
  • ilomilo ($4.99)
  • Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond ($9.99)
  • Shadow Assault/Tenchu ($9.99)
  • Shinobi ($4.99)
