Photo modes have continuously become increasingly popular among gaming audiences in recent years, and though it’s not exactly a standard feature you expect to see in every game, it does show up with great frequency. The Assassin’s Creed franchise in particular has delivered some great photo modes with its recent instalments, and though the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage is set to differ from some of its more recent predecessors in significant ways, this is one tradition it isn’t looking to buck.
In a recent AMA session on Reddit, Assassin’s Creed Mirage art director Jean-Luc Sala confirmed that the game will indeed feature a photo mode at launch. According to Sala, players will have “have a lot of opportunities” to snap photos in and around Baghdad, thanks to the setting’s visual offerings, while in addition, players will also have the option to “try to photo safari the now extinct Arabian Ostriches.”
Sala also confirmed that Mirage’s photo mode will use the same feature set as the photo mode in 2020’s Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, with the addition of also being able to capture images with the game’s Assassin’s Creed 1 visual filter applied.
Speaking of ancillary features outside of the core gameplay experience, Ubisoft recently also revealed and detailed Mirage’s History of Baghdad feature, which will revolve around a codex similar to the series’ early outings. Read more on that through here.
Meanwhile, it’s also been confirmed that there are currently no plans for DLC or extensive post-launch support for Mirage.
Assassin’s Creed Mirage launches on October 12 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
