Naval combat and exploration may not be as emphasized in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey as it was in Black Flag, but it’s still one of the game’s core pillars. As you level up and upgrade your ship, you’re allowed to recruit and equip it with up to four lieutenants, who not only accompany you for direct combat when you’re boarding enemy ships, but also provide your own ship, the Adrestia, with stat buffs and advantages.
Ubisoft has now announced that Bayek, the protagonist of last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins, and the founder (or co-founder, at the very least) of the Assassins Brotherhood, can now be recruited as a lieutenant of your ship. He brings three stat buffs for your ship- a 9 per cent increase in rower stamina, a 9 per cent boost to fire power when ramming, and 15 per cent increase to refilling of rower stamina when cleaving.
Bayek can be purchased for 40 Ubisoft coins on the Ubisoft Club. He isn’t the first Assassin from previous games to be added to Odyssey in this manner. Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Evie Frye was also added not so long ago.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Read our review of the game here.
