Assassin's Creed Odyssey

Ubisoft has shared a brand new trailer of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, showcasing its gorgeous and glorious recreation of the landscapes of ancient Greece. The Assassin’s Creed franchise has always been known for its stunning recreations of historical eras and locales, so much so that last year’s Assassin’s Creed Origins even added a Discovery Mode, just to let players tour through its recreation of ancient Egypt unhindered by the rest of the game.

In that regard, Odyssey looks to be no different, and the ancient Greece we see in this new trailer truly looks to be a remarkable reinterpretation of what the land must have been like. All of this is also accompanied, obviously, by developer commentary on exactly how they approached the question of recreating one of the most historically significant landscapes of all time in a video game. It’s really great stuff, and if you’re a history buff, you will appreciate what they have to say.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey launches October 5 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
