Assassin’s Creed Origins Patch Improves PC Performance

Ubisoft’s latest chapter of the Assassin’s Creed series had a few bumps on PC, but having just released patch 1.03, some players are reporting having a far easier time exploring and ghosting their way through Egypt.

Ubisoft for their part swears that the known CPU stress the game puts on its players rigs has nothing to do with its double-stacked DRM protections, but wanting to see for themselves, Dsogaming.com put the game through some stress tests to see just how much Ubisoft has done to smooth out the experience.

They took Assassin’s Creed Origins and the new patch through its paces on their Intel i7 machine, and while they found that their rig was still running at full pace, the frame rate now dipped far lower and less extremely in general, with a 1080p benchmark never falling below 58 frames per second. Dsogaming concluded that the game saw a 16% boost in performance thanks to the patch, making the experience smoother than ever for PC Assassins.
