Assassin’s Creed Syndicate New Trailer Shows Off Jack The Ripper DLC In Action

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate will be taking advantage of its Victorian London setting in a big way soon, when Jack the Ripper is added to the game via an expansion. The expansion will try to build up the myth of the legendary serial killer, taking advantage of the fact that so little is known about him, and also act as a segue to introduce new mechanics into the franchise.

“[Jack the Ripper’s] story is filled with blanks and rumors, which gave us the opportunity to create a fictional story around the infamous Whitechapel serial killer, inspired by what little is known about him,” said Ubisoft’s Benjamin Dumaz, Lead Mission Designer on Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s Jack the Ripper expansion.

“We are introducing a whole new gameplay system for Jack the Ripper. With the fear system, you will scare away your opponents or use friendly fire at your advantage.”

It sounds like it will play differently to anything else in the franchise- the new trailer below also sells the expansion from a narrative and setting standpoint. My only hope now is that Ubisoft doesn’t screw this up.
