Assassin’s Creed Unity: Dead Kings, the downloadable campaign that continues the story of Arno after the events of Assassin’s Creed Unity conclude, will be available to download next week, Ubisoft announced today. Xbox One players will get it on January 13, while PlayStation 4 and PC players get it a day after on January 14. Everybody gets it for free, however, which is sort of nice.
The campaign will follow the story of Arno after Unity’s story has finished, with Arno leaving Paris for Saint Denis, a mysterious city that holds the crypts of deceased French kings. Sent on a mission to the extensive underground of the Basilica, Arno will face a faction of new foes, the Raiders, populating its catacombs. Equipped with a lantern and a new powerful weapon, the Guillotine gun, Arno will have to navigate the dangerous passageways to uncover the darkest secrets of the city.
Assassin’s Creed Unity was the newest entry in Ubisoft’s flagship video game franchise, and launched mired with controversy in a largely unfinished state, to the extent that Ubisoft had to cancel the Season Pass, offer a free game to everybody, and work on finishing the game to a workable state after its launch. The core game design, however, remains fun, so now that the game is mostly fixed, you may want to give Unity a fair shot.
