Astral Chain Is PlatinumGames’ First Ever Title To Top UK Charts

Astral Chain is out now, and it’s had a pretty successful launch, in true Switch exclusive fashion. It debuted on top of the UK sales charts, outselling the likes of Man of Medan and Control with just two days on the market, in spite of being available on just one platform. As per data provided by GamesIndustry, there’s more than just that number to show just successful this launch has been for PlatinumGames and Nintendo.

Astral Chain is, apparently, the first time a game developed by PlatinumGames has topped the UK sales charts. The highest ever a game climbed before this was Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which reached second place back in 2013. It’s also the developer’s second best new IP launch since 2010’s Bayonetta, and their fourth best launch overall.
