A surprising announcement has been made by Ubisoft, Avatar (the game) has sold over 2.7 million copies worldwide since its release last year, Ubisoft says that the sales “performed ahead of our expectations” and that the main cause for these numbers are due to the Movie’s release on DVD and Bluray.

“The game Avatar performed ahead of our expectations in the quarter, notably on Wii, and ended up close to 2.7 million units sold in the full year, delivering a positive contribution for the company.” said Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot.

“The game continues to sell well, notably thanks to the launch of the movie DVD.” he added.

I’m very impressed, for the fact that the game isn’t exactly great nor good, its definitely worth a try, but be careful with your money.
