Baby Park Confirmed for Mario Kart 8

The best Mario Kart track will be returning to the best Mario Kart game in the upcoming DLC.

Before Mario Kart 8 took the throne, the best console entry in the long running racing game franchise was considered to be Mario Kart Double Dash, which allowed for a kind of chaotic multiplayer fun that the series has not seen since. The epitome of all of this fun was Baby Park, a simple closed loop track with little to no distractions that just players against each other in a 7 lap race.

Compared to the creative and imaginative design of other Mario Kart tracks, at first glance, Baby park might appear to be lazy and dull. In actuality, it turned out to be anything but, as it was the very distillation of the Mario Kart formula, and is now widely seen as the best Mario Kart track of all time.

This track will be returning to Mario Kart 8, thanks to the second of its announced DLC packs, which launches later this month. Almost no changes have been made to the track, with the only exception being that the entire track now seems to be in anti grav mode, which should change the dynamics of racing on such a cramped track entirely.

We also now have the full list of tracks in the DLC pack:

New:

Interestingly enough, Mario kart appears to be continuing the crossover F-Zero love with this new DLC track. After the hit Mute City track in the previous pack, this new one will include a redone Big Blue track from the F-Zero franchise.

The second DLC pack for Mario Kart 8 launches later this month. Stay tuned for more coverage.
