You know, even though Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft are all not holding any major press events at Gamescom this year, it sounds like we will have some things to look forward to at Europe’s largest game show. Bandai Namco have shared their plans for Gamescom this year, and it sounds like they have something new and exciting to announce- a brand new IP.

Bandai Namco refer to the new IP themselves twice in their press release for the event and Gematsu is further adding to the report, with some minor new details- for instance, it sounds like this new IP, whatever it is, will be ‘western focused,’ so it should be something that the better part of people tuning into Gamescom can appreciate.

Gematsu also specifies that the new IP will be ‘published’ by Bandai Namco, which makes it sound like it won’t be an internally developed project as much as it is something they have picked up the publishing rights to- much like with Dark Souls, for instance.

Whatever it is, we will keep you posted. Gamescom is coming up in less than a month now- stay tuned to GamingBolt.
