The fine people over at Rocksteady Studios posted an AMAA earlier this weekend in which they saw fit to reveal some information about the game as it draws ever closer to the final release date. Sharp eyed gamers may have noticed that the Batsuit is considerably more robotic in appearance than its previous iterations which were primarily just armoured.

The reason for this is to draw a connection to the new Batmobile, Rocksteady said “We wanted to highlight the interaction between Batman and the Batmobile – you’ll see that the suit mirrors the design of the car in a lot of ways. The new suit impacts gameplay as well, as it enhances some of Batman’s abilities, particularly in the way the Batman and the car work together.”

An interesting twist on the formula is competent foes. 90% of the time, Batman does nothing but beat waves of mindless thugs into a fine powder. But the game’s newest foes aren’t quite as susceptible to your kick punch combo because, “They’re fast, and they can dodge and counter you – in the most recent builds they’ll dodge you without making you drop your combo, so it’s easy to get caught out the first few times.”

When asked about how varied combat could get, they didn’t want to get into the details as they would need to ask the QA team, but they said “We’ve got some big fights at certain points in the game, where you’ll be facing a significant number of enemies, so there’s a lot to work with there.”

With a new trailer set to drop this coming week, expectations are high for the newest Batman game.
