After the furore generated regarding the Season Pass for Batman: Arkham Knight, which costs $40 and didn’t promise more than a few new missions and skins, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has revealed exactly what players will be receiving over six months post-launch.
This includes a new campaign wherein you control Batgirl for the first time in the series and travel to a new location in a new prequel story. “The Season of Infamy” will feature new story missions, gameplay features and additional villains for Batman to tackle while Gotham City Stories sees you embarking on mission with Batman’s allies, both before and after Arkham Knight’s conclusion.
Other little extras include Legendary Batmobiles and different tracks to race on; new Challenge maps which you’ll be able to play with Batman and friends; and of course, lots of new custom skins for Batman, Robin, Nightwing and Catwoman, each paying homage to different eras of the characters. All in all, despite the high asking price, there seems to be a lot more content on offer than, say, the DLC for Arkham City or Arkham Origins. Does it beat the 30 hours offered by The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s expansions pass, which retails for $24.99? That remains to be seen.
Batman: Arkham Knight is out on June 23rd for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
