Battlefield 1 May have A Capture The… Pigeon? Mode

That sounds ridiculous. And awesome.

Battlefield 1

This may sound crazy, but it will probably be true too- but if this rumor is to be believed, and at this point, there is very little reason not to believe it, the upcoming Battlefield 1 may have a Capture the Pigeon mode.

Okay, so I know there are a few questions going through your head right now: what rumor? Why is it trustworthy? Why capture the pigeon? They are all relevant questions, so let’s take them on one by one: the rumor has to do with a video AlmightyDaq posted on YouTube all the way back in March. In this video, he accurately leaked the next Battlefield game’s name and setting, as well as a whole lot of other stuff that has since been proven true (including information that lines with datamines from the game’s alpha).

So this rumor is trustworthy- but see, in this same video, as VG247 point out, he also reveals that Battlefield 1 will have a Capture the Pigeon mode. Why? What? What is it even going to be? I’ll let AlmightyDaq explain.

“There’s also a pigeon game mode. That is to say it’s similar to Capture the Flag in a way. [The] Pigeon functions like a flag that must be held for a certain amount of time before [it] flies away towards the base carrying a message, thus scoring your team a point,” he explains. “It’s pretty ridiculous sounding, but take my word for it.”

I mean, I have no reason not to, and… yeah, it sounds so ridiculous, it’s probably going to be true. It will also hopefully be a whole lot of fun. Even if it isn’t, the sheer ridiculousness should sell it.

Battlefield 1 will launch on PS4, Xbox One, and PC this October.
