Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 has had a few closed tests already, but everyone will get the chance to go hands on with the eagerly anticipate World War 1 era shooter by DICE soon, when the previously announced open beta hits. And that shouldn’t be that far off into the future, if a Battlefield 1 community manager is to be believed.

Sebastian Moritz, the Battlefield community manager for Germany, revealed during a livestream interview this week with CmdKrieger (via DualShockers) that the open beta will probably begin shortly after Gamescom. Given that Gamescom runs from August 17-21, it seems like the beta will start in late August or early September- which is still more than a month before the game’s late October release date.

Battlefield 1 is due out on October 21 on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. It is the next entry in DICE’s Battlefield series, and it takes the series back to its roots by returning to a historical setting.
