Battlefield 1 Will Have No Framerate Cap on PC

This must be music the ears of PC gamers worldwide.

Battlefield 1

Mafia 3 may have ended up pissing a lot of players on PC off with its framerate that was capped at 30fps, but it doesn’t look like what promises to be one of the biggest PC releases of this year will. DICE and EA have confirmed that the PC version of the upcoming World War 1 era shooter, Battlefield 1, will do right by PC players. It will have no framerate cap whatsoever, according to BFCentral.

This means that you can now take the framerate for Battlefield 1 as high on PC as your system will allow, which is exactly how things should be (indeed, the very notion of framerate caps for PC games is a bit of a modern phenomenon).

Of course, DICE and Battlefield have never compromised on PC versions of their games, so this isn’t as much of a surprise. Still, it’s good to see the developers continuing to honor their PC gaming heritage, unlike so many other developers these days.
