Like mentioned the game takes place in World War II, and offers up to 24 online players.

You get to choose between two factions:

The US Marine Corps and the Japanese Imperial Army.

Each faction has 3 classes:

  • Infantry – Your standard infantry soldier, using machine guns and granades.
  • Rifleman- Using semi-automatic Rifles and special bayonets for the close encounters.
  • Scout- Your standard Sniper, using his sniper rifle and his camouflage

Just like every other Battlefield game, Battlefield 1943 lets you choose how you want to play the game, and you can do it whenever you like.

You have the choices between staying on the ground, getting in a tank or a jeep, going on a battleships,or perhaps just roam the sky with your fighting jet, you choose how you want to kill your enemy in Battlefield 1943.

Battlefield 1943 offers unique gameplay styles, one example is that you can use the built in squad features to team up with up to 4 other soldiers and make your way across the Pacific Theatre together.

Played Battlefield: Bad Company? Liked the destruction? well Battlefield 1943 offers the same engine in which players can destroy almost anything in their path, if its shooting down a tree or blowing up a building, many Battlefield fans will get right into the action of Battlefield 1943.

The game offers 4 maps, Wake Island, Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal, and Coral Sea, pretty good for a PSN/XBL title.

So prepare your controllers ladies and gentlemen, Battlefield 1943 will hit the Playstation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace on July 9th for 1200 Microsoft point on Xbox 360 and $14.99 on the Playstation 3.
