Battlefield 4: DICE Confirms All Future Content For The Game Will Be Free For All Players

Okay, that is an awesome move.

I’ve sent a lot of barbs DICE’s way for their general mishandling of Battlefield 4 and everything about it, but I have to give them credit for this- they have confirmed that all future content that is released for the game will be made available for free to all players, regardless of whether or not they have subscribed to the Battlefield Premium service.

BF4Central reports that DICE’s David Sirland confirmed that all future content will be free for everyone- this includes both the new maps, and the upcoming Gunmaster game mode and new weapons. In addition, future additions, such as the Night Maps and Community Maps update will also be made available to everyone for free.

That is ultimately a very good move- while it can be argued that the bulk of post launch support for Battlefield 4 is finished (we are done with the Season Pass, and the last major announced expansion), free is free, and this appears to be substantive content, at the very least.
