Recent rumours and leaks have spilled the beans on several crucial details for the upcoming Battlefield 6– which, allegedy, will be called simply Battlefield. The game is supposedly going to have a near-future setting, in addition to featuring a large-scale battle royale mode and also having battle passes. More new details on the game’s multiplayer and single player campaign have also emerged, thanks to known insider Tom Henderson.

According to Henderson, the next Battlefield’s single player campaign will feature co-op support. Players will take on the role of a specialist squad, who will regularly have the choice to side with either the United States or Russia, the two superpowers taking centerstage in the story, and the campaign will progress accordingly.

Meanwhile, where the multiplayer is concerned, Henderson states that players will be able to play as one of four different kind of soldiers, who will vary from each other not in terms of the weapons and equipment they have, but will also each have their own unique abilities, analogous to the perks in Call of Duty.

Henderson is a known insider and has had a pretty good track record where leaks for Battlefield and Call of Duty are concerned, and has himself been on the forefront for many of the leaks for this year’s Battlefield game. Either way, until such time official word comes from EA or DICE, it’s best to take this with a grain of salt (for now, at least).

With a reveal due in May, as per rumours, it shouldn’t be long before we learn more about the game.
