Bethesda Not Interested In “Spitting Out A Skyrim 2″ Every Year Or Two

Bethesda on how it treats its games.

Fallout 4

Anyone who has been waiting impatiently for years for Fallout 4 knows that Bethesda doesn’t work real quickly when it comes to some of their most beloved series. That’s why the company is warning fans of Skyrim that a sequel isn’t coming down the pike anytime soon. Speaking to the Telegraph during E3 2015, Bethesda’s VP of marketing and PR Pete Hines talked about the plans of the company in the future and why they did a big presentation this year.

It’s likely one of the reasons they did the event this year is because of Fallout 4, which the company said it announced “early” because it’s almost ready to go. He added that his company operates differently than other firms when it comes to “churning” out games. “It’s rare to have franchises like the ones we have and to have people joking about “when is Skyrim 2 coming out?” said Hines. “Generally speaking that’s what you’d be getting with another publisher in charge. They’d be spitting out a Skyrim 2 the year after or two years later. That’s just not how we view it. We’re not the sort of publisher that focusses on ‘what’s our 25 titles for 2015.”

While that might be the case, it’s going to be a pretty big year and a half for the firm. Fallout 4 is due out on November 10 and Dishonored: The Definitive Edition is due out in August. Dishonored 2 is also coming down the pike in the near future and will likely be coming in early 2016.
