We have long known, thanks to a spate of rumors, that Ubisoft’s Beyond Good and Evil 2 will have some manner of Nintendo exclusivity. Now, the exact nature of that exclusivity has been revealed. According to well known Nintendo insider Laura Kate Dale, who simply won’t stop leaking stuff before the Switch event later this month, Beyond Good and Evil 2 will indeed be a Switch exclusive- for a year. After a year, it seems like Ubisoft will be releasing the game on PS4, Xbox One, and PC digitally.
She also revealed that the game is codenamed ‘Odyssey,’ and that the Odyssey teaser for the game is done. Apparently, the teaser for the game will be the last announcement on the January 12 event. Nintendo are, of course, unlikely to confirm timed exclusivity for the game at their event.
Beyond Good and Evil 2 was originally announced in 2008, and will finally be released, hopefully, soon now. The game is a sequel to the action adventure game on Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox by Ubisoft’s legendary designer Michel Ancel. Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, is slated to launch later this year, in March, worldwide.
