FF13 showcases a government ordering a purge against a selection of civilians while a rebellion looks to protect and save the innocent from destruction. Once the game inched closer to a release date, screenshots started to emerge showing character models slightly downgraded compared to earlier press releases. Fans began to question why the recent images showcased a drop in image quality. It was reported that Square Enix decided to lock quality based around the Xbox 360 version. Apparently the Xbox 360 console was not able to match the quality that the PlayStation 3 could have provided, resulting into parity across both versions.
