Borderlands 3 promises to be a huge game, with Gearbox Software claiming that it’s significantly bigger than its predecessors (just its main story will allegedly take players between 30-35 hours to finish). But what does that mean in terms of its file size? We now have that specific detail.
Thanks to an update to the game’s page on the Microsoft Store, we know that Borderlands 3 will require just under 40 GB of free storage space on your Xbox One- 39.98 GB, to be precise (we can probably expect a similar file size for the game on the PS4). That seems like the kind of file size you’d expect for a game that’s claiming to have as much content as Borderlands 3 is.
Sadly, if you’re going to be playing the game on PC, you won’t be able to pre-load those 40 GBs, thanks to some weird Epic Games Store stuff that just seems like it’s adding kindling to the fires of controversy that are already roaring around the digital storefront.
Borderlands 3 is out on September 13 for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. To whet your appetite until then, check out the game’s opening 14 minutes through here.
