It may look like Borderlands and feel like Borderlands but Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is very much it’s own game. It’s also very much like Borderlands but that’s besides the point. New mechanics are on-board this time around and Hyperion’s Handsome Jack is on hand to tell you how to use them. Check out the newest video above.

Besides double-jumping and the new elemental weapons, new details on the Slam ability are revealed. This ability can be used when you jump in the air and hit the crouch button, causing you to plummet down on an enemy. Along with some new attack strategies, this can also be modified with elemental effects to, say, freeze enemies as soon as you land on them. Also, there are lasers. Because why not?

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be out on October 14th in North America and October 17th for Europe on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Thoughts on the game? Let us know below.
