Let me set the scene for you. You and you’re friends hop into a multiplayer lobby for the first time after firing up Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. You all decide that Recovery sounds like a good map to start on, so after deciding on your load-out you all dive into the game and start blazing away at each other in the close confines of the corridors and tight corner areas of the stage. It’s about this time you start to wish you had brought an SMG or a shotgun rather than a scoped rifle.
But then something happens that snaps you out of your weapon choice reverie. A frikken Volcano erupts and sends pyroclastic clouds of choking ash and poisonous fumes roiling across the battlefield. You all skip fighting and book it towards the nearest safety gate. And then, in the nice and open sightliness of this large expansive area, you suddenly no longer regret bringing that scoped rifle.
From CQB to Volcanoes. You gotta give the developers some credit, their borrowing the idea of big set pieces and integrating it into their own game style. That’s kinda clever!
