Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Redditor Drift0r recently got to play the multiplayer mode of the just announced and eagerly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, and then proceeded to share his impressions on it via a Reddit AMA.

Before we proceed, please keep in mind that the build of the game that he played was an early one and the final game may differ significantly from what he got his hands on.

The thing that is likely to interest a lot of people the most (sadly) is that the PC version of the game was seen running at 4K, while the PS4 version at 1080. Both versions ran at a butter smooth 60fps, though it is interesting that the Xbox One version was nowhere to be seen.

He also noted the difference in movement and traversal that this game has compared to previous games in the franchise.  “On a scale of 0 to 100, with BO2 being 0 in move speed and AW being 100, Black Ops 3 is probably about a 65-70,” he noted, before also revealing that verticality seemed to be limited, and most maps capped out at two stories, if that.

He also discussed the weapon customization options.

“Weapon customization / attachment choices were truly insane. More than ever before,” Drift0r added. “Didn’t like: A few aesthetic choices, facial animations in campaign, there is a Blast Suppressor type perk, and a few of the Perk 3 choices were VERY weird. Not bad, but just odd.”

It sounds like Treyarch is working on delivering on their promises. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 launches on Xbox One, PS4, and PC on November 6. Stay tuned.
