After a lot of flip flopping and speculation going both ways, Activision has now confirmed that its upcoming Call of Duty title, Call of Duty: Ghosts, will also be releasing on Wii U this holiday season when it hits retail. The news should really surprise no one, considering that Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call of Duty: World at War, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and Call of Duty: Black Ops II have all hit Wii (and Wii U in case of the latter) before.

We don’t yet know who will actually be handling the Wii U version of the game. All previous Wii and Wii U Call of Duty titles were handled by Treyarch, so it would not be unreasonable to assume they are going to be behind this one as well, but we don’t have any confirmation either way. We’ll update you if and when we do.

Call of Duty: Ghosts is the next entry in the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise, releasing this winter on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Wii U, and PC.
