Activision officially announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 earlier this week, but with a full reveal still a few days away for the first person shooter, there’s plenty still about it that we don’t yet know. For instance, it hasn’t yet been officially confirmed which platforms the game will launch for, and while that ordinarily wouldn’t be much of a mystery, it seems like that might not necessarily be the with Modern Warfare 3.
As spotted by @TheGamingRevo3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s Xbox Store page only mentions Xbox Series X/S as the platform it’s coming to, indicating that the game won’t be launching on Xbox One. On the other hand, a trailer uploaded for the game by the official PlayStation YouTube channel mentions both PS5 and PS4 in its title.
Currently, Activision hasn’t officially said which platforms Modern Warfare 3 is going to release for, causing some confusion. While it’s possible that Xbox One not being mentioned on the game’s Xbox Store page is simply an error, for now, it would seem like the game will be cross-gen on PlayStation, but not on Xbox.
A full reveal for the shooter is scheduled for August 17, so we’re not going to have to wait much longer to get some clarity on this, at the very least.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is set to launch on November 10. Activision has confirmed that players will be able to carry over their skins and purchases from Modern Warfare 2 into its upcoming sequel.
PS4 is at least confirmed, could just be Xbox One they leave behind? pic.twitter.com/njNG24Gw1C
