Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is almost here, and it may or may not have a Battle Royale mode coming after release. But one thing it will have is Spec Ops, and something that has ruffled some feathers is the fact that Spec Ops’ Survival Mode is going to be an exclusive mode on PS4 for a year. How you feel about that is up to you, but either way, today we got some details on what that mode entails.
As detailed via a promotional email from Sony, which you can see through here, the mode is pretty much about the same as what it was in Modern Warfare 3, where you must fight off increasingly difficult waves of enemies in co-op, similar to the Horde mode in Gears.
“Special Ops Survival Mode is an exclusive, additional cooperative mode for PlayStation 4 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare players that pits you and up to three of your friends against enemy forces in intense cooperative combat,” the email reads. “In Special Ops Survival Mode, you will fight off waves of increasingly difficult and determined combatants in a variety of experiences. Gear up and get ready for endless cooperative fun.”
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25th. The non-Survival Spec Ops will get a reveal on October 8th.
