Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is almost here, and it’s sure to blow the hinges off the door sales-wise. It’ll be a worldwide sensation no doubt, but there is one place it won’t be apparently, as the game will not be sold on the PlayStation store in one specific region.

After a tweet from the official Russian Call of Duty twitter, it was later confirmed that the game would not be sold on the PlayStation store in Russia. No official reason was given, though many assume that it’s due to the nature of the game’s narrative that involves a Russian occupation. Sony confirmed that it was true to GamesIndustry. Oddly, it seems the game will still be sold on PC through Battle.net and even on the Xbox console in Russia, leaving the situation even more mysterious.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will launch on October 25th. Even though the game won’t be on the Russian PS Store, you can get a free theme on the PS4 store.
