Despite its success, Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has had its share of multiplayer problems. However, custom loadouts have been a heavily requested feature since launch. The current system limits players to only five slots.
Though one can modify their loadout during a match, it’s still more convenient to switch to a custom setup and go from there. Fortunately, it seems that Infinity Ward is aware of the issue. Art director Joel Emslie acknowledging that more custom loaoduts are in development. Commenting on Reddit, Emslie said, “You and everyone else that has commented on this are right. It’s in mainline back at the studio and we’ve been tinkering with it. I’m not sure which update its in but I think it’s next.
“Believe it or not it can cause horrible bugs if not tested properly. I’m not certain about all this so don’t get fired up on me if I’m wrong. Since I’ve commented here I’ll stick with the issue at the studio.”
Activision has sold additional slots in the past for titles like Call of Duty: Ghosts, allowing four additional slots for a total of 10 across 10 different characters. How many custom loadout slots will be added to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare remains to be seen. If they’re indeed coming in the next update, then players could have more loadout slots by late January to early February. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.
