Call of Duty: World War 2 Gets A Pretty Intense Story Trailer

Tugging at your hearstrings.

We were promised a story trailer for Call of Duty: World War 2 today- and we have gotten one. The trailer focuses on the campaign of the game, which follows the story of Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, a farm boy who joins the First Infantry Division when World War 2 breaks out.

The trailer tries its best to tug at our heartstrings- and while I admit that the final campaign will be something special if it ends up living up to the tone that is being hinted at in this trailer, I don’t currently have any reason to believe that that will actually happen- Call of Duty campaigns are known to be bombastic and over the top. There is nothing wrong with that, mind you! But it does make me wonder why Activision and Sledgehammer are insisting that we take this change in tone on face value.

That said, they will definitely continue in their attempts to win us over- we will be getting new information on the game’s story mode every day until the end of the month. Let’s hope that we aren’t spoiled on everything it has to offer.
