The upcoming Call of Duty: World War 2 will leverage the extra power and hardware resources within Sony’s PS4 Pro console, developers Sledgehammer Games have confirmed. The extra power will be put towards be put towards enhanced visual fidelity, Sledgehammer Games’ Michael Condrey confirmed in an interview with OPM UK.
That is par for the course for just about every PS4 game that gets PS4 Pro enhancements- but Connery also mentioned that the HQ mode in the game, which will act as the central social hub, will benefit from the PS4 Pro’s extra power, though he declined to go into more details about how exactly.
“The new facial system, the new animation system, the new rendering physics system, [PS4] all brings that to life. This power, you know, we’re taking full advantage of the PS4 Pro and everything it’s doing to really bring that fidelity out,” he said. “It’s also evident in Headquarters, he explains, with the 48-player space also taking advantage of what the supercharged console can do.”
Naturally, owing to Sony’s marketing deal for the game, any Xbox One X enhancements and improvements (presuming they actually do exist) were not confirmed or even mentioned- hopefully, however, Sledgehammer does end up leveraging Microsoft’s supercharged console, too. it would be a shame if what is anticipated to be the biggest game of the year didn’t take advantage of the most powerful console ever made.
