Call of Duty: WWII Zombies Mode – Perks, Weapon Upgrades, Zombie Variety Detailed

Interesting new details on WWII's Zombies Mode.

Call of Duty: WWII is almost upon us, and other than the fact that it sees the series returning to its World War II roots, people are excited to see its take on the uber-popular Zombies Mode. And we have some interesting information on the same for you, thanks to a recent interview held by the PlayStation Blog with Call of Duty: WWII’s Zombies lead Jon Horsley, senior director at Sledgehammer Games.

One of the most interesting things Horsley confirmed was that there will be different kinds of Zombies in WWII. He said that in the in-game world, the Third Reich has raised an army of the dead in a desperate attempt to try and win the war, and that these dead soldiers still retain some of their past characteristics and discipline, leading to the different kinds of zombies. “Each zombie type fills a specialized role as well,” said Horsley. “There are flaming zombies and running zombies, for example, and they will give you serious problems if you get cornered.”

Horsley also spoke about upgrading player weapons, and how it will be done, and he confirmed that among other methods to do so, there will be a special hidden machine that does it for you. He did not go into any further detail on any of this, though, saying that it was too early for that yet.

He did, however, talk a little about Perks, and said that there will be several in-game rewards and upgrades, some of them temporary and some of them permanent. He said that though some of these will be familiar to people, they will be presented in “new and interesting” ways.

Call of Duty: WWII launches in November for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for continued coverage on the game.
