Capcom has announced that it has made Taiwanese 3DCG production company Minimum Studios a subsidiary through the acquisition of two-thirds of its total issued shares. Capcom says it took the step to “bolster its developmental and technological capabilities, aiming to achieve its long-term management goal of 100 million units in annual sales.”

“Going forward, Capcom will continue to explore the acquisition of necessary technological capabilities in order to enhance its game development organization,” the company said.

Minimum Studios’ specialization lies with animations. The company was formed in 2018, since when it has also worked on in-game animations in a number of major Capcom titles- Resident Evil Village, 2023’s Resident Evil 4 remake, and Dragon’s Dogma 2. It’s safe to say that we’ll likely be seeing Minimum Studios continuing to work on a number of future Capcom games.

Capcom hasn’t provided any financial details related to the acquisition, but it says the deal will have a “negligible” impact on its fiscal results.
