Castle of Illusion

The remake of the 1991 Disney themed Mickey Mouse Sega Genesis exclusive adventure, Castle of Illusion, is now available on PlayStation 3 (via the PlayStation Network Store). It will also be made available tomorrow on the Xbox 360 (via the Xbox Live Arcade), and on Windows based PCs via Steam. No Wii U, PS Vita, or 3DS versions have yet been announced.

The re-imagined title costs $15, which might be seen as a hefty asking price for a remake of a twenty two year old platformer, but Sega, on its part, seems to believe the remake is worth it.

“We enjoyed working closely with Disney Interactive to update this classic title,” said John Cheng, President and COO, SEGA of America. “Whether they played the original on the SEGA Genesis or just discovering it for the first time, we really hope the fans will find our re-imagining of Castle of Illusion a magical experience.”

The premise of the new game is the same as that of the original. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for further coverage of the game.
